Our Story

Group rides in the Angeles National Forest inspired HELMUFS

The idea for HELMUFS originated on Mount Wilson, a mile high sentinel above Pasadena, CA. Hundreds of cyclists climb the roads and trails to the summit to experience the expansive ocean views and crisp (sometimes frigid) temperatures and the AWESOME Cosmic Cafe. My ears would ache from the heat loss during the long descents down the mountain. I originally crafted one pair, then another, until I found a shape that fit great and kept my ears happy. Soon, my riding buds wanted to check’em out and then some local shops asked if they could carry some. Within a year they were in over 100 bike shops across the US.
